"A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep." -Saul Bellow When the fantasy world in order to cope with reality of life is brought too far from reality, it becomes hard to distinguish authenticity from fiction. Every human being has illusions. The majority of the time we are unable to uncover their true meaning; now that doesn't mean our precious visionary images have no answer or sense. Life exists on many levels. Take for example a stone which feels and appears solid is an illusion as we know but in reality it is made up of countless zillons of individual atoms tightly bounded with each other, none of them touching each other. And love? When we experience love, at certain times it feels real but on another level it is just a biochemical process, a trick of evolution. Illusion and imagination can be very powerful things, both being similar in many ways. Illusion is seeing something that does not exist, imagination can make one see things that aren't there either. But Albert Einstein once said "imagination is more important than knowledge.'' Positive approach to imagination can improves life values ,standards and lead to progress and the negative approach is found to lead the individuals towards feelings such as panic, intolerance, nervousness etc. Rifa Khan XII B
