Have you ever been told that focusing on one thing is better than trying many others? The phrase “Jack of all trades, master of none” has been quite well known these days due to the fact that this was only the half part of the quote. The complete form is— “Jack of all trades master of none, though oftentimes better than master of one.” This changed the meaning wholly, showcasing a positive side of the phrase. It also makes me ponder because I am a jack of all trades myself and I believe that many other people are too. Achieving mastery and expertise in one field requires a lot of perseverance and hard work but the joy of exploring many other realms of hobbies is enchanting in its own. Here I am writing this blog, after some time I might be reading a book or I’d be at my academy training martial arts. Each habit teaches me something new like martial arts instils patience and discipline in me and reading improves my vocabulary while keeping me entertained. The quote teaches us to be versatile and try to learn as much as we can. Having proficiency in one area has benefits of its own but having many experiences can help you in daily life. There’s something jolly in having many hobbies. It is like living a hundred different lives through them. The hobbies which are close to your heart can always provide a sense of comfort. I shall conclude the article with the fact that no matter what other people say if you want to pursue any interest of yours then you should. Follow that dream and chase success because you only live once so make it worth living.
