THE ANNUAL SPORTS DAY, 2025-26

  • Mon,16 Feb 2026

The crisp winter morning of 31st January set the perfect stage for St. Anne’s Annual Sports Day, 2025-26 at the Gaushala Maidan. The ground was abuzz with excitement as the four house colours—Crimson Red, Verdant Green, Royal Blue, and Classic Yellow—painted the field bright with pride and passion.

The event began on a patriotic note with the stirring strains of the National Anthem, followed by the oath-taking ceremony, reminding everyone of the true spirit of sportsmanship. The atmosphere grew electric as the torch relay, led by students who have brought laurels to the school at the state and national levels, made its way across the field. With the declaration of the Sports Meet open by Ms. Tessy Joseph, Vice Principal, the ground echoed with cheers as the arena transformed into a stage for speed, strength, endurance, and determination.

The junior school track and field events were a burst of energy and laughter, featuring a range of fun-filled races such as the sprint, hopping buddy ring race, book balancing race, hop-with-the-balloon race, lemon and spoon race, and the pop-solve-run challenge.

The middle school students showcased their agility and coordination through events like the diya race, shuttle relay, ball balancing, and the hula hoop harmony race, among others.

The senior school athletes demonstrated speed, stamina, and teamwork by competing in the 100 m, 200 m, and 400 m sprints, along with relays and the ever-exciting tug of war.

Each race was met with loud applause as young athletes competed with enthusiasm and confidence, giving their very best for their houses.

A day in the open—filled with cheering classmates, friendly banter, and the thrill of rallying behind one’s house—made the celebration truly unforgettable. No wonder Sports Day stands out as one of the most eagerly awaited events in the school calendar.

The crowd was especially thrilled during the tug of war, where teamwork and sheer strength kept everyone on the edge of their seats. It was a pleasure watching the support staff compete on the race track. And, the excitement soared to its peak when the teachers took to the track, much to the delight of the students, whose cheers and laughter filled the ground. The announcement of results was met with eager anticipation and loud applause as winners were declared and outstanding performances were acknowledged.
