- Wed,21 Oct 2026
Education is not confined to the four walls of a classroom. It extends beyond textbooks and lectures. One way to achieve it is excursion or field trip. Excursion offers a unique blend of education, adventure and knowledge. With these noble thoughts in mind Excursion 2026 was planned on 9th and 10th October 2026 for the Humanities student of class XIIth. The destination was the historical city of Jaisalmer, known as the golden city. It is a medieval fortress city in Rajasthan found in 1156 A.D. by Rawal Jaisal.
Students travelled by bus and saw some historical sites of the city such as the Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon Ki Haveli, The Jain Temple, The Gadesar Lake, the Tanot Mata Temple, Kuldhara (the abandoned village), etc. They admired the uniform yellow sandstone architecture and the rich heritage of the city. They loved wandering the narrows alleys, discovering ancient monuments, enjoying local cuisines, seeing vibrant culture and handicrafts. Sam sand dunes, desert safari, folk dances and desert camping were unforgettable experiences.
The visit to the primary Indo-Pak Border point and outpost located close to Jaisalmar, Bawaliyanwala Border and Longawala War Museum filled the students with enthusiasm and patriotic feelings.
The trip was full of adventure, fun, thrill and knowledge. It was more like a fairytale packed with golden memories of the school life.
